Usually, people in managerial roles focus mainly on the running aspect of business such as skills acquisition and improvements, financial risk assessment, economic opportunity, market expansion etc.

Culturally this type of work has always been conducted under pressure and with the need of high performance.

In the contemporary fast changing work environment, the recent pandemic has added even more changes to the way we work. This has resulted in managers having to adapt very rapidly to accommodate more flexibility in the way business is conducted and in the way we now work.

Although the wellbeing (physical and psychological) of people in managerial roles is increasingly a subject of concern, little research has been done in this field. Most of organizational interventions to reduce stress and promote wellbeing tend to focus on employees leaving the wellbeing of those in managerial roles behind.

Dr. Gonzo sees the necessity to really stop and think independently and creatively and especially outside any “business box” to find ways for managers to look after their wellbeing, their physical and psychological health.

A mentally and physically strong manager will simply be a better manager.

Three key takeaways points from the workshop:
  • A better understanding of the actual state of our wellbeing
  • Acknowledgement of the risks and consequences of neglecting our wellbeing and being open about asking for help recognizing red flags
  • Overview of different ways to maintain and improve our wellbeing
